The Canadian Diabetes Association (CDA) will hold its Professional Conference and Annual Meetings as part of Vascular 2013.

The complete conference will be held October 17-20, 2013 in Montreal, Quebec. All groups will host their individual sessions, but will come together on Friday, “Vascular Day” to present topics of interest to all. The organizers hope to attract over 6,500 attendees from across the health care spectrum fostering a cross-collaboration in research, education, networking and learning.

On Thursday, October 17, a morning symposium will focus on diabetes and mental health. Betty Harvey and colleagues will present on “Disparities in Chronic Disease Prevention and Management for Individuals with Serious and Persistent Mental Illness,” and Scott Mitchell will present “Standing Together: Providing Diabetes Competency Training for Mental Health Peer Support Workers.”
